This rig runs four live game show formats: SHIP OR FLIP, BOX BATTLES, RIP BATTLES and THE BREAK. Nine surfaces hang off it and they are not interchangeable. Everything below says what a surface is, who opens it, and on what. Nothing on this page acts on the show.

Producer token

Two surfaces on this rig need the producer admin token on the URL: the console and the remote cast stage. Paste it once here and this browser keeps it, which is also the token the console itself will use if you open it later without a query string. It is never printed back on screen and it never leaves this browser.

What the audience gets

Public, no sign up, no token. This is the link on the QR code that goes out on air.

PLAY ALONG/play The second screen. Call the pull before the box opens, vote on what the contestant should do, and climb the season leaderboard. Opens: anyone watching. On: a phone, held in one hand.

What talent gets

One link, and only this one. Anyone appearing on the show goes here and nowhere else.

GREEN ROOM/green-room Camera, microphone, a return feed of the room, and a tally light that tells the truth about whether they are on air. It answers the three questions talent actually has. Opens: anyone appearing on the show. On: a laptop, or a phone at a push.

What the producer drives

One person, one machine, for the length of a taping. The console is the only surface on this rig where money is actually spent.

PRODUCER CONSOLE /console Token The control room. Open boxes, hold a result off air, run the Broker, settle the episode. Everything irreversible about a taping happens here. Opens: the producer, one person. On: a desktop browser on the production machine. TOKEN NEEDED. Paste the producer token above and this becomes a working link.
PROGRAM PREVIEW/program The whole composite in one tab, stage under overlay, at whatever size the window is. This is the surface to judge framing on, and the one to show somebody the rig with. Opens: the producer or the director. On: any browser, any window size.
AUDIO CUE SHEET/audio-check Audition every cue the show fires and all five states of the music bed, without a show running. Doubles as the brief for a composer. Opens: the producer, or an audio supervisor. On: any browser, with headphones.

What goes into OBS

Browser sources, built once into a scene and then left alone. Read Before you go on air, at the foot of this page, before you build the scene rather than after.

BROADCAST OVERLAY/overlay?transparent=1&audio=1 The graphics layer of the program picture, transparent, sitting on top of everything else. Swap the query for ?output=preview to get transport health, sequence numbers and safe area guides instead. Opens: whoever builds the OBS scene. On: OBS, as a 1920x1080 browser source.
REMOTE CAST STAGE /stage Token The faces layer. A second browser source that sits under the overlay and cuts itself as the show moves, so nobody has to switch cameras by hand. Opens: whoever builds the OBS scene. On: OBS, as a 1920x1080 browser source, same profile and same machine as the overlay. TOKEN NEEDED. Paste the producer token above and this becomes a working link.
VERTICAL OUTPUT/vertical?safe=platform A dedicated 1080x1920 composition off the same state feed and the same modules, for phone platforms. It is never a crop of the program picture. Opens: whoever builds the vertical scene. On: OBS, as a second browser source at 1080x1920.

What is public proof

The fairness claim, standing on its own without the broadcast. Safe to send to anybody, including people who have no reason to believe us.

PROVABLY FAIR VERIFICATION/verify Recompute every pull that aired, in your own browser, from the seed the platform committed to before the first box was opened. Nothing on that page trusts this rig. Opens: anyone at all. On: any browser, during the episode or long after it.

Before you go on air

  1. /stage and /overlay live in the same OBS profile, on the same machine.

    The stage cuts itself in step with the overlay off one shared state feed. Split them across two machines or two profiles and the two layers drift apart on air. It looks like a video fault and it is not one, so nobody finds it quickly.

  2. /stage is a fixed 1920x1080 canvas and it does not scale down.

    In a smaller window it crops, silently, with nothing on screen saying so. A face that looks framed in a half size browser tab is not framed on air. Judge framing on /program, listed above, every time.

  3. Talent go to /green-room and nowhere else.

    Not /play, not /program, not the console. Somebody sent to /play by mistake has no camera, no microphone and no tally light, and no way of knowing they are not in the show. This is the single most common wrong link on this rig.

Both manuals live in the repository. This rig does not serve them, so they are written out here as paths rather than offered as links that would 404 on this hostname.
